At "JustHowGoodAreYou.com", we believe the formula for a successful business or individual can be found in the following quote from Dr. Michael DuBoeuf, of Louisiana State University. He said:
"People buy from whom they like.
Who do they like?
They like those who help them solve their problems."
People buy from whom they like. They aren't sold. People buy products and services from someone who helps them solve their problems. Whether it's a product or service or you (– getting hired! –) it is all the same thing. You must make it easy for the customer to buy what they need from you - today.
During our years of professional experience, we have discovered that the difference between a successful business and one that flounders is often very simple:
Companies do not give enough importance to finding out what their customers want, and then delivering that to them.
In 2006, Dan McGinnis and Karen McCann collaborated on a consulting group called Telecoms Alliance, which specializes in advising clients in the telecom industry. Their association was in response to requests from customers who wanted professional guidance to improve the performance of their businesses.
McGinnis and McCann found that the practices they use to improve performance in the telecom industry apply to all business, and discovered that there is a real demand for these services. They have taken theses principles and practices to a broader audience with
"JustHowGoodAreYou.com."
Dan McGinnis
got his start in the telecommunications industry. He has experience in every aspect of both the wire line and wireless business, including:
- Sales
- Marketing
- Business Development
- Senior Executive positions
- McGinnis has led or advised organizations throughout the U.S. and internationally, and has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in profits with his expertise.
- His experience is not limited to just the telecom industry. He has also:
- Developed and managed a start-up software company in Toronto.
- Provided in-depth product and market research to an American company launching products in Central and South America.
- Built, owned, and operated "Houston's Best Hot Dog Joint" named "The Hot Dog Stand" which earned rave reviews from the Houston Chronicle.
Now McGinnis has partnered with McCann to provide value-added services to entrepreneurs, corporations, non-profit organizations, individuals and others who look for ways to improve performance, whether that be increased profits or acquiring the skills needed to land that great job or big account.
Karen McCann
has been lauded for her ability to quickly assess ideas, issues, opportunities, and risks and then to develop programs that address current situations and enable clients to reach their goals. In 2006, McCann, with McGinnis, launched Telecoms Alliance for a client when she conceived, developed, and executed the first series of "company reviews" with recommendations for improvement.
Having gotten her start in the oil and gas industry, she then became an entrepreneur, starting a successful corporate apparel sales and design business. With 25+ years of successful experience in a broad range of business practices, McCann has now taken her expertise to clients with "Just How Good Are You.com."
McCann and McGinnis believe that any successful business or individual must answer this question about their performance:
"Just how good are you?"
They know the answer is in the next question, which is:
"Do you make it easy for customers or prospects to buy what they need from you - today?"
This is the foundation of their business. And it works!
They believe that a company is only as good as the individuals in it. They have learned that employees want to perform up to their level of expectation, but often they are not as well prepared as they can be or should be. McGinnis and McCann have the experience and expertise to show you how to make it easy for customers to buy what they need from you, today. In doing so, they will help you accomplish your goal of improving performance. |

What We've Done:
Recently, a business owner in Central Texas came to us, confused and frustrated, because his once-thriving company was starting to fail, and he did not understand why. He wanted us to find out "just how good he was" compared to his competition and compared to past years when profits soared. McCann went to work and completed a series of reports entitled "Just How Good Are You?" assessments that captured his operation through the eyes of a potential customer. This report detailed the condition and appearance of his business, how his employees dressed and behaved when he wasn't around, how knowledgeable his staff was about the products and services offered, and addressed a variety of other concerns he had voiced to us during our first meeting.
This report opened the GM's eyes to what was going wrong with his company, and he claimed it was the single most important investment he made towards fixing this broken business.
After our assessment, we went to work on a "Just How Good Are You?"II- The Business Process Review, which spelled out - in detail - what steps needed to be taken in order to turn things around. We implemented these changes and within months, the results were:
- 30% increase in new revenues
- 20% reduction in costs and overhead
- Employee turnover reduced from 3 per year to 1
- No lost Workers Compensation Claims
- $0 in lost inventory, down from $500 - $2000 per month
Other Projects:
Internationally, McGinnis developed all marketing programs for the launch of the 2nd national telecom company of a Southeast Asian nation. He brought this start-up venture to the market in nine months. One month before launch, McGinnis discovered that there was no "alternate sales agent" channel. McGinnis conceived and developed an alternate distribution channel program, which he completed within one week, presented to national agents within two weeks, and launched the program within three weeks of conception. Today, 15 years after product launch, this channel delivers more revenue and profit than any other sales channel.
While on a consulting project in Australia, McGinnis also developed the National Consultative Sales Training Program for a major international corporation, when he discovered that there wasn't one in place. He developed a program in thirty days. This program is still in use today, after 15 years.
A multi-national application service provider contacted McGinnis to request a course that taught "Consultive Sales" but didn't push products or services. He developed and delivered the program within thirty days.
